Kindful Studios, powered by Nanlite: a brighter next chapter

Some meetings leave you itching to get started.

Our first visit from Andrew at Nanlite was one of those. We walked around the studios, talked lighting, shared ideas and started imagining what we could create together.

Now we’re very excited to share where that conversation has taken us.

Kindful Studios is partnering with Nanlite, with a complete lighting upgrade coming to both of our podcast and content studios in Poole.

And with it, two familiar names are getting a new addition:

The Big One, powered by Nanlite. The Little One, powered by Nanlite.

It feels pretty special seeing that written down.

Why we’re excited about this

When we opened Kindful Studios, we wanted to create somewhere people would feel comfortable walking into, even if they’d never sat in front of a camera before.

Somewhere you could bring an idea, settle into a conversation and have a team around you who cared about making it look and sound brilliant.

This collaboration gives us more tools to deliver on that.

Nanlite will be supplying lighting to replace our existing setup across both rooms. That means more flexibility in how we light people, shape each set and create different looks for the businesses and creators recording here.

For our team, there’s plenty to get excited about technically. For you, the benefit is simpler: more possibilities for how your content looks, with us handling the lighting.

What better lighting brings to your content

Lighting makes a huge difference to the feel of a video.

A relaxed interview might call for soft, natural light. A podcast with a bold identity might suit a more colourful background. A business filming a series of videos might want a consistent look that becomes recognisable across its content.

Having more control helps us make those choices deliberately.

The incoming kit includes full-colour spotlights, slim panel lights and tube lights, giving us different ways to light faces, add depth to backgrounds and bring colour into a set.

You don’t need to know which light does what before you arrive. Tell us what you’re creating and the feel you’re after. That’s where we can help.

The kit coming to Kindful Studios

For anyone who enjoys the equipment side as much as we do, here’s the planned lineup.

The Little One, powered by Nanlite

Our two-person studio will be receiving:

  • 2 x Nanlite FC-120C lights
  • 2 x 40cm octagonal softboxes
  • 1 x Nanlite PavoSlim 240CL

The softboxes will help us create softer light on the people recording, with the panel adding another option for shaping the setup.

The Big One, powered by Nanlite

Our four-person studio will be receiving:

  • 2 x Nanlite FC-500C lights
  • 2 x SB-RP60 softboxes
  • 1 x Nanlite PavoSlim 240CL
  • 1 x Nanlite PavoSlim 240

The larger room gives us several sets to work with. This upgrade will give our team more scope to develop the lighting around each one.

Additional lighting and accessories

Also joining the studio kit:

  • 1 x PavoTube 15X four-light kit
  • 1 x PavoTube 15X two-light kit
  • 4 x LS-FL-1/4 PavoTube floor stands
  • 1 x Nanlite FS-300C

That’s six PavoTubes in total, adding further options for backgrounds and creative lighting.

A collaboration we want to create with

We’re looking forward to getting the equipment installed, experimenting with it and sharing what we learn along the way.

There’ll be behind-the-scenes content, looks at the setups and opportunities to show what different lighting choices can bring to a recording.

A huge thank you to Andrew and the Nanlite team for spending time with us and helping make this happen. We’re proud of what we’re building here in Poole, and very excited about this next part.
